I don't know what it is about 80's music but it makes me want to dance! I was a little girl in the 80's and my parents were extreme music lovers. I'd wake up to blaring music and find myself staring at the ceiling, fantasising and creating to my hearts content. All I could see was movement and it was all derived from my emotional response to the music resonating through the floor boards and seeping into my soul!
Don't get me wrong, there is incredible music being produced all the time and even before the 80's we were blessed with the best but for some reason the 80's seemed free to let all inner emotions run wild. Emotional truths come out in 80's music and even today music of the 80's makes us weep or jump to our feet for no other reason than that we can relate to its truth and the melodies hit us deep inside. The empahsis in song writing and performance in the 80's was not as much about image as it is today. It was about entertainment and truth and it was accessible to so many different types of people!
